Our Mental-Health Professionals Are Insane.

Witness Dr. Allen Frances.

President Trump rightfully said that mass shootings are the result of mental illness. Not surprisingly, his opponents immediately came to the defense of the homicidally mentally ill. Many mental-health professionals claim that mass shooters ARE NOT mentally ill. The politicization of mental health is complete.

You may have heard of Dr. Allen Frances, former Chairman of Duke University’s Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences.

Frances was a crusader AGAINST over-diagnosis of mental illness. Mental-health professionals use the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders (DSM) to determine whether or a patient is mentally ill. Frances was chairman of the DSM-IV Task Force, producing the revised volume in 1994.

DSM-5 was published in 2013. Frances led the charge against it, calling it junk science and claiming that it would result in false epidemics of mental illness.

Frances argues that everyday life creates behavior patterns that mental-health specialists have transformed into pathology.

Well, guess what Dr. Allen Frances did?

He wrote a book titled Twilight of American Sanity: A Psychiatrist Analyzes the Age of Trump, published in 2017.

In his book, Frances argues that ALL AMERICANS ARE INSANE for electing Trump.

Frances is 77 years old. He has returned to the romanticization of mental illness that was popular during the 1960s. The argument was that the sane are the REAL lunatics. Several movies with this theme were made.

Alan Bates discovers that the only crazy people in the world are the ones who are NOT in mental asylums. After all, the mentally ill are happy and peaceful. They don’t start wars.

In his now-infamous CNN interview, Dr. Frances said that calling Trump insane “stigmatizes the mentally ill,” most of whom are "well-behaved, well-mannered, good people. Trump is none of these.”

In a normal world, what would you think when you read the following intro to an article?

"A controversial CNN segment Sunday morning featured the former head of Duke University's Psychiatry Department demanding professionals stop discussing President Donald Trump's mental health in terms of 'psychological name-calling.’”

You'd think that the psychiatrist was opposed to the practice of mental-health professionals diagnosis the president without having actually examined him, right?

And you'd be WRONG. Frances is saying that calling TRUMP crazy is in insult to the mentally ill, because Trump is not crazy. He’s simply EVIL.

"Trump is as destructive a person in this century as Hitler, Stalin and Mao were in the last century. He may be more responsible for millions of more deaths than they were. He needs to be contained. But he needs to be contained by attacking his policies and not his person.”

What has Trump done to kill so many millions of people?

The answer is that he’s “damaging world climate.”

In other words, Dr. Frances is himself completely insane. Climate-change madness forces Frances to twist himself into hilarious contortions of pretzel logic. He tells us that we’re all insane for electing Trump, but he also thunders mightily against “stigmatizing” mental illness.

Of course it’s not surprising that Dr. Frances has incredibly bizarre facial expressions in casual conversation. He has a problem saying the word “and.”

He also has utterly flat affect. There’s no life whatsoever in his eyes.

Frances is a quack. And now, he’s a rabidly political quack revving up all the mentally ill people who he loves and admires. Prior to his diagnosing of the ENTIRE COUNTRY as mentally ill, Frances made spurious arguments about the rate of mental illness in the past. He spoke of our ancestors as “hardy folk” who did not suffer the sorts of disorders prevalent today.

In reality they suffered FAR WORSE DISORDERS. That’s why we had wars that lasted 700 years. That’s why we had drawing and quartering, in which a person was hanged until almost dead and then disemboweled while audiences cheered. On eBay, you can find postcards of Chinese public executions that defy belief. These executions took place in the early 1900s, not centuries ago.

Our ancestors were hardy AND OFF THEIR ROCKERS. They saw disembowelment as ENTERTAINMENT.

Dr. Allen Frances is the living embodiment of societal sickness. Not a single person who warns against climate change actually lives as though it’s a problem. I have no doubt that the good doctor has a carbon footprint the size of my entire city.

What motivates Allen Frances is hate. And when our mental-health experts are insane and filled with hate, we have to be on our guard.

The simplest way to make Frances go away is to reelect President Trump. As Michael Moore said, Trump is the human Molotov cocktail and human hand grenade we can use to show the ruling class how we feel about them.

In November of 2020, throw the Molotov cocktail and hand grenade again, but throw it harder.
